Educational Seminar – Launceston Oct 30, 2021

Off the Track are hosting an educational seminar on Saturday 30 October at Mowbray Racecourse, Grandstand Level 2.

This is a free event between 2.00pm – 5.00pm with refreshments provided.

The seminar is designed to provide owners of OTT horses with educational support to assist with transitioning a horse from the track to the community.

Guest speakers for this session are;

Sue McDermott – EA Coach Educator & Tasracing Approved Coach

Sue will be discussing a variety of aspects related to the transition and re-education of horses retiring into the community including;

  • What to consider when taking on a retired race horse
  • What to expect when you being re-education
  • Shoeing, teeth, ulcers and other important changes to look out for

Sarah Bartlett – Hygain Feeds Tasmania Representative

Sarah will be discussing the transition from full race feed to a more relaxed diet, common mistakes and the Hygain Nutritional Support Program.

Emma Critini – Bodyworker Specialist from Aurora Equine Tasmania

Emma will be discussing body work in depth including;

  • What to expect with a newly retired race horse
  • Muscular imbalance
  • The benefits of bodywork

Covid Check in will be required on entry to the venue.
